Malaysia Public Holidays 2028 — Long Weekends & Annual Leave Planner

Malaysia public holidays 2028: when the official gazette is published, we'll have every holiday date and long-weekend opportunity right here.

Malaysia public holidays 2028

The official 2028 gazette hasn't been published yet. The Malaysian government typically releases the next year's holiday schedule in November or December of the preceding year (e.g. the 2026 gazette was published in late 2025). When it drops, this page will list every federal and state holiday with day-of-week and the same interactive planner you can use today for 2026, 2027.

What we know about 2028 already

Even before the gazette is published, some 2028 holidays are predictable because they fall on fixed dates (e.g. New Year's Day, Labour Day, Merdeka Day, Malaysia Day, Christmas Day). Others — Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Raya Haji, Chinese New Year, Awal Muharram, Prophet Muhammad's Birthday, Nuzul Al-Quran, Wesak Day, Deepavali — shift year-to-year based on lunar/Islamic calendars. We update the planner the day the gazette publishes.
